Director of Philanthropy
Roula Alkatout (she/her/hers) is first and foremost a people person. She earned a degree in Social Justice with a focus on houselessness in Minnesota from Hamline University. As an asylee to the U.S, she brings tremendous empathy, learned and lived experience in dealing with structural racism and bias. She started her career as an AmeriCorps Member, which jump started her track towards housing equity, advocacy and justice for families. Roula spent 8 years fostering relationships and establishing family housing support and stability with Project for Pride in Living and several years working on environmental justice issues, providing education and resources on waste and sustainable living with Eureka Recycling. She also plans, coordinates, and hosts city-wide events as a volunteer development committee member for Headwaters Foundation for Justice. Outside of work, you can find her gardening, biking, cooking and baking, or hanging out with her family including her husband Dan and perfect cat, Nelly.
